Маленька дівчинка має найкращого друга – велетенську змію!
Всі ми колись були дітьми й мали своїх домашніх улюбленців. У когось це була кішка, в інших – песик, дехто мав пташку, а хтось – акваріумних рибок. Але у Великій Британії живе маленька дівчинка, на ім’я Емі Таока, яка має напевно найнезвичнішого вихованця на світі – велетенську змію.

Батько маленької Емі – масажист-терапевт Ед Таока придбав жовтого сітчастого пітона на ім’я Шер, коли його доньці виповнився всього лише рік. Як не дивно, вони швидко подружились й знайшли спільну мову. Тепер Емі досягла 7-річного віку, а змія Шер стала її найкращою подругою.

Попри дружбу дівчинки та змії Ед Таока встановив у своєму домі спеціальні правила поведінки з твариною. Емі заборонено залишатись з пітоном наодинці, брати її за голову, тягати за хвіст, а також купати та годувати її.
Але загалом чоловік вважає змію повністю безпечною для дитини. Він впевнений, що навіть кішка чи собака скоріше може подряпати чи вкусити ніж його лускатий вихованець. А також думає, що шанс травмуватись при грі, наприклад на надувному батуті чи дитячому замку вищий, чим коли донька грається зі змією.
Пітони цього виду живуть доволі довго, до 30 й більше років, тож Емі має всі шанси досягти повноліття, вийти заміж та познайомити свою найкращу подругу Шер вже зі своїми дітьми.
