Роса ще не обсихала на траві, туман медленно відступав до протилежного берега річки, а сонце вже викочувалося з-за зубчастої лінії лісу.
Микола стояв на ґанці, милуючись красою ранку та глибоко вдихаючи свіжий повітряний присмак весни. Після нього почулися шльопання босих ніг. Жінка у нічній сорочці, накинувши на плечі платок, підійшла й застила поруч.
— Гарно ж як! — з насолодою видихнув Микола. — Ідеш би додому, застудишся, — промовив він ніжЖінка притулилася до нього, обхопила його руку і прошепотіла: “А може, правда, залишишся?” — але Микола вже знав, що його чекає дорога, і знову залишить її на самоті, як і кожного разу.
