Adam Was Deeply Hurt Upon Discovering That His Mother Planned to Give the Flat to His Sister—He Couldn’t Understand Why She’d Chosen His Sister Over Him and His Wife, Especially After They Had Been the Ones Caring for Her When She Needed Support
Martha has been raising her two children alone, and now, after suffering a heart attack, her son James immediately steps up to care for her. Meanwhile, his sister, Charlotte, although living comfortably in a large flat in London, always finds reasons not to help with their ageing mothers care.
James and his wife have taken on the responsibility of looking after Martha, but the task isnt easy. They must juggle caring for an elderly woman, bringing up their own child, and keeping up with work commitments. Occasionally, James asks Charlotte for financial assistance for Mums medical costs, but she consistently prioritises her own expenses above everything else.
Despite the challenges, the young couples dedication helps Martha to get back on her feet, and she soon begins to help out around the house. Things take an unexpected turn, however, when James overhears his mother talking about leaving her flat to Charlotte so she can sell it and buy herself a new house.
This revelation hits James hard. He feels betrayed; he and his wife have been by his mothers side during her time of need, yet it seems his sister will inherit everything. When James confronts Martha about it, she confirms her plans, explaining that Charlotte needs the money more, and that James is capable of managing.
Frustrated by the unfairness, James decides he cant continue as before. He packs his belongings and arranges for his mother to move in with Charlotte, who is clearly her favourite. This decision is Jamess way of expressing his sorrow and dismay at his mothers choice to favour his sister despite all he has done to support and care for her.
