Чоловік замість однієї квартири для нас придбав дві менші: одну для нас, іншу для молодшої сестри.
Замість того, щоб купити двокімнатну квартиру для нас, чоловік вирішив придбати два менші квартири – для нас і для своєї молодшої сестри. Я мріяла про затишне житло і вже уявляла, як його оформлю. Нещодавно ж я усвідомила, що мої плани не здійсняться…
Ми з чоловіком живемо разом уже 5 років, і весь цей час збирали гроші на власне житло. Власне кажучи, це мій чоловік працював і відкладав кошти, тому що я займаюся хатніми справами. Я мріяла про простору двокімнатну квартиру площею сімдесят квадратних метрів з великою кухнею та вітальнею. Я уявляла, як зробимо ремонт і придбаємо нові меблі. Але нещодавно я дізналася, що моїм планам не судилося здійснитися. Чоловік вирішив купити дві менші квартири – для нас і для своєї молодшої сестри.
Олександр думає, що я не здогадуюся про його плани і поки нічого не каже. Але я не сліпа і не глуха. Я знала, що це рано чи пізно станеться. До цього моменту я не втручалася. Я розуміла, що коли він їздить до своєї матері, то не просто п’є з нею каву, а обговорює важливі плани.
Я знайшла в його телефоні закладки з переглянутими сайтами і пошуковими запитами. Були дзвінки, які він не приймав, а потім передзвонював, коли виходив з дому. Коли ж настала пора покупок, Олександр сказав, що він придбає дві менші квартири і по-іншому вчинити не може.
Я не дуже розуміла, чому він вважає, що має борг перед родиною. Єдине, що вони йому забезпечили, це гарна освіта. З початку навчання він працював під час канікул, а коли почав заробляти більше, відклав свої заощадження на рахунок.
Після весілля ми винаймали житло, бо чоловік збирав на покупку власної квартири. І ось тепер, коли нам все ж вдалося зібрати повну суму, ми маємо ділитися з його сестрою? Чому?
Олександр пояснив це так: «У сестри є свої потреби. Ми з нею дуже різні. Я економний, відповідальний, цілеспрямований. А вона легковажна. Спочатку винаймала квартиру з одним хлопцем, потім з іншим. Немає власного куточка, де виховувати дітей. Жінка у 26 років хоче мати власне гніздо, де можна створити сім’ю. Я ще давно відклав гроші. Знав, що витрачати їх на розваги не варто. Обіцяв сестрі купити квартиру ще до нашого весілля.
Після розриву з партнером вона оселилася у матері та також почала заощаджувати. Мама ще продала частину своєї ювелірки і доклала кілька тисяч гривень. Спільними зусиллями ми зібрали на маленьку квартиру в новобудові. Так буде справедливо. Я не зміг би безтурботно відпочивати з тобою на святах і жити у двокімнатній квартирі, знаючи, що сестрі немає де жити. Немає причин для образ чи хвилювань. Я тебе люблю і зможу забезпечити нас. Трохи перепочинемо і подумаємо про купівлю інших квартир для наших дітей.»
Я не знаю, що думати після слів чоловіка. З одного боку, він витратив наші спільні кошти на свою родину, а з іншого боку, допоміг сестрі. Це дає надію, що і мене не залишить у скруті…

Whenever he approached the kennel, Duke positioned himself between Andrew and the entrance, growling softly and looking at him pleadingly, as if to say: “Please, don’t go in there.” This odd behaviour was so out of character for their years of friendship, it made Andrew uneasy—what was his best friend hiding? Determined to get to the bottom of it, Andrew came up with a plan—he lured Duke into the kitchen with a tempting piece of steak. While the dog, locked inside, barked desperately at the window, Andrew crept towards the kennel and crouched down to peer inside. His heart skipped a beat as his eyes adjusted to the darkness and he saw something that froze him on the spot… …There, curled up in a blanket, was a tiny kitten—dirty, freezing, and barely breathing. Its eyes barely opened, and its frail body shivered with cold. Duke had found it somewhere, and instead of chasing it away or leaving it to its fate, he had sheltered it. He had slept outside to avoid scaring it and guarded the entrance as if there was treasure inside. Andrew held his breath. He reached out, gently lifted the tiny creature and pressed it to his chest. In that moment, Duke raced over and nestled beside his shoulder—not growling, but gently, eager to help. “You’re a good dog, Duke…” Andrew whispered, clutching the kitten. “Better than most people.” From that day on, there were no longer just two friends living in the garden, but three. And the lovingly built kennel found its purpose again—as a little home for souls in need of saving.
