My Brother Was Alone for So Long, and When He Finally Met a Girl, She Turned Out Not to Be Worthy of Him
My brother has always been a shy lad, ever since we were little. Nothings really changed over the years. At school, he barely made any friends, even though Adam is a genuinely decent bloke. Because of the way he is, my brother hardly ever had the nerve to talk to girls, let alone go out with any. At university, his group of mates was all fellasno women around. The girl he fancied ended up meeting someone else, all because Adam couldnt make up his mind. Although hes not been lucky in his personal life, Adams done rather well for himself in his career.
After he finished university, my brother landed a proper job, bought himself a flat, and started supporting the family a bit too. The years went by, but he still couldnt find a suitable woman. I even tried introducing him to friends of mine, but nothing came of it. The girls all said there was nothing to talk about with Adam, even though hes a good sort. But then, there was one woman who finally managed to win my brothers heart. Adam was beaming with happiness.
As for me, Id rather stay single than wind up with someone like that. His new girlfriend works as a cashier in a shop and has two children from a previous marriage. She hasnt got any qualifications and doesnt own a place to live. I really dont understand why Adam is with her. When he brought her round to meet our parents, Mum nearly fainted before asking her to leave. I feel for my brother. He was alone for so long, and just when hes found someone, shes not at all what he deserves. Adam wont listen to Mum and Dad. Love is blind, as they say. I just hope my brother realises his mistake soon and leaves her.
How can I persuade him? If nothing else, this has taught me that people really dont see whats right in front of them when their heart is involved.
