Не варто знущатися з людей із села!

Я закінчила економічний факультет і декілька місяців тому влаштувалася на посаду бухгалтерки в одній компанії…
Перші кілька робочих днів повернули мене у спогади про часи вступних іспитів, а потім і семестрових екзаменів.
Ніколи не забуду, як інші дівчата дивилися на мене з насмішкою – модні, доглянуті, з макіяжем, аж захмарнені.
А я – бідне сільське дівча, яке здригалося від страху не пропустити ранню електричку, не переплутати трамваї й автобуси та не запізнитися на іспити. Мене зовсім не турбувало, що я вберу і як виглядатиму.
Коли мене прийняли, нічого не змінилося. Їхні погляди залишалися зневажливими, сміялися з мене, коли я взимку ходила в єдиній парі закритого взуття.

Вони проходили мимо, як повз предмет, а я стояла, змерзла, дмухала на руки, щоб їх зігріти.
Спочатку ніхто нікуди мене не запрошував, а потім почали робити протилежне.
Завжди кликали на каву чи “щось перекусити”, бо знали, що я не маю грошей і відмовлюся.
Насмішки й образи інших зблизили мене зі Степаном, який, так само як і я, походив із глибокої провінції, бідний, немодний, колега, що рахував кожну копійку.
З ним ми так і не стали парою, але дотепер залишаємося справжніми друзями, розраховуємо одне на одного й допомагаємо.
Ми обидва виявилися непохитними – він почав працювати ближче до Тернополя, щоб бути поруч із батьками і допомагати їм.
Я змушена була облаштуватися у Києві, бо моя сестра живе недалеко, сама виховує племінницю і потребує моєї підтримки.
Ніколи раніше я не ділилася цими переживаннями.
Нещодавно на нове місце роботи прийшла одна з колишніх колег. Вона була зверхньою і єхидною, поки я не поставила її на місце.
Я пояснила їй, що принесені документи були зовсім неправильними, а це могло навіть підвести моїх керівників. Вона відкрила рота, щоб заперечити, але я не дала їй можливості.
Після того, як пояснила, що в цьому офісі голос не підвищують, вона зникла зі своїми претензіями.
Мені дуже хотілося помститися за знущання й приниження, які вона з подругами чинила наді мною, але я не змогла.
Я вирішила, що її ганьба та надмірні амбіції достатня помста.
Я щаслива, що не дозволила таким, як вона, зломати мене.

He paced the hallway, reading off doctors’ names and making comments on each. On completing his ’rounds’, he plopped down next to the girl, still giggling. An elderly woman passing by politely asked him: – Young man, would you please calm yourself? The lad looked at her, baffled, and replied: – Granny’s pregnant too! Hoo-ha-ha-ha… His girlfriend giggled softly, both of them with equally vacant expressions. With some effort, I managed not to start an argument with the pregnant girl. Next, the soon-to-be dad launched into a new topic—food. – I’m famished! Ya-ya-ya-ya-ya… – I’m hungry, and it’ll be another half hour in this queue… – Let’s go get sausage rolls! We’ll come back after! – I don’t want sausage rolls. – You’ve become so picky! Hoo-ha-ha-ha… Everyone’s head was pounding from listening to them, but thank goodness, the pair finally left—I don’t know if they went for sausage rolls or pasties, but that was irrelevant. The important part was that they were gone. With horror, I thought about what kind of upbringing their child would get. Chances are, that child will turn out just as poorly raised. Maybe the grandparents will step in, but if they raised these two, I doubt things will be any different with the grandchild.
