— Галю Миколаївно, та ви що?! Так не можна! — голос Григорія Васильовича тремтів від обурення. — Я ж вам не родич!
— А хто ж родич?! — різко випросталась жінка, стискаючи в руках зім’ятий лікарняний листок. — Син мій, що дзвонить раз на півроку зі свого Києва? Чи онука, яка про бабусю зовсім забула? А ти вже третій рік кожного дня питаєш, як справи, ліки купуєш, коли в мене грошей нема!
Григорій Васильович ніяково переступав з ноги на ногу в передпокої. Високий, сутулий чоловік за шістдесят п’ять, з сивою щетиною і добрими, стомленими очима. Прийшов зранку, як завжди, дізнатися, чи треба щось купити в магазині, а тут таке…
— Та ж квартиру на мене не переписувати! Що люди скажуть? Що сусіди подумають? — нервозно перебирав у руках стару кепку.
— А мені байдуже, що вони думають! — Галина Миколаївна пройшла в кімнату, сіла в улюблене крісло біля вікна. — Сідай, чого стоїш, як стовп.
Григорій Васильович сором’язливо присів на край дивана. За вікном моросив жовтневий дощ, вода стікала по шибці, і від ц— Слухай мене, Григорію, — промовила Галина Миколаївна, і в її голосі була така ніжність, немов вона нарешті знайшла те, що шукала все життя.
