Досі Дмитро лишається вільним чоловіком. Хоч і збирався одружуватися всерйоз, але логіки своєї нареченої так і не зрозумів.
Коли він зробив Маряні пропозицію, вони зустрічалися вже рік. Пристрасть трохи вщухла, і Дмитро нарешті усвідомив, що саме з нею хочеться йти по життю, бачити її щодня, чути її голос.
Маряно, виходь за мене, наполегливо й натхненно промовив він, ставши на одне коліно, як належить із відкритою шкатулкою, де блищало каблучко, та з величезним букетом квітів у другій руці.
Маряна не сказати, щоб не чекала цього, але все одно здивувалася й, звісно, зраділа.
Звісно, любий, звісно, погодилася вона, не вагаючись.
Маряна була гарною дівчиною, та й Дмитро їй підходив високий, статний, зі спортивною фігурою, завжди одягнений у спортівку.
Хочу, щоб ти народила донечку, схожу на тебе, посміхнувся він.
Та будь-коли, жартівливо відповіла вона.
Почали готуватися до весілля. Дмитро навіть не підозрював, що для цього потрібно стільки всього.
Маряно, це ж просто весільний маскарад, казав він, коли вона тягла його по магазинах. Я й уявити не міг, що стільки клопоту.
