Минуло одинадцять років з тих пір, як моя єдина дочка вийшла заміж. Її чоловік відразу викликав у мене симпатію. Петро – розумний, освічений чоловік, доволі галантний та ввічливий. Коли Марина стала його дружиною, я не могла стримати радість.
Рік потому вони потішили мене звісткою про те, що я стану бабусею. Оскільки я збиралася вийти на пенсію через стан здоров’я, дочка запропонувала мені переїхати до них. Вона сказала, що їй знадобиться допомога з дитиною. Я із задоволенням погодилася.
Протягом десяти років я дуже важко працювала в їхньому домі. Готувала їжу, прала одяг, мила підлогу і шафи, виховувала двох онуків, все для того, щоб Марина і Петро могли комфортно працювати і заробляти.
Одного разу вони повідомили мене прикрою новиною.
Вони збиралися з дітьми на закордонний відпочинок. Без мене. Чому?
Тому що вони хотіли відпочити від мене. Строком стільки років вони сприймали мене як прислугу та няню. Я не можу стримати сліз.
