My Ungrateful Daughter: I Gave Her Everything, But She Forgot Who Raised Her!

Published

on

My daughter is ungrateful! I handed her a thriving business, and she has forgotten who raised her up!

I could title my story similarly to that of Alfred Lord Tennyson — “Ode to the Unseen.”

Reflecting on the past, I realize I’m not alone in this predicament. History is filled with examples of children who, after being spoon-fed opportunities, lost sight of those who supported them.

I wish no harm upon my daughter. Let her follow her own path.

However, I refuse to continue providing her with a job and profits since she believes there’s no place for me in the business I built.

I gifted her a well-established enterprise.
I laboured all my life, building and expanding. I started small and worked tirelessly towards success.

Now, I own a chain of hotels and several restaurants. This was the result of many years of hard work, sleepless nights, mistakes, setbacks, and recoveries.

As my daughter matured, I decided to pass on part of the business to her. She was bright and ambitious. I hoped she would carry on my legacy, safeguarding and growing what I created from the ground up.

I entrusted her with one of the restaurants. Moreover, I gave her a 30% stake in the company.

I introduced her to the business world.

I shared my clients, connections, and knowledge with her.

Yet, the more she received, the less she seemed to value it.

She came to believe that I was no longer needed.
Over time, her attitude towards me shifted. She began to see herself not just as the owner of the restaurant but as the head of the entire company.

She started interfering with hotel management and making decisions without my consent.

It even escalated to the point where, upon entering the restaurant one morning to grab a cup of coffee and some food from the buffet, she shouted:

— You’re eating on my tab!

I was taken aback.

— How is it on your tab? Didn’t I give you this restaurant? Isn’t this part of a business I’ve built over the years?

She merely brushed me off.

— It’s my restaurant now. I’m not obliged to feed you.

It felt as though I was listening to a stranger rather than my own daughter.

She allied with the tour operators against me.
But that wasn’t the end of it.

She struck deals with tour operators behind my back.

She alone had access to the bank accounts, and all payments were directed to her.

As for me…

She allocated some funds and tossed them at me with the words:

— This should be enough for you.

Enough?

For me, the one who built this business?

The one who invested years, nerves, and effort into it?

I expelled her from the company.
When the season ended, I reached my breaking point.

I called a meeting.

I stripped her of her 30% company rights.

I regained control.

I expelled her from the business I had given her.

She thought I wouldn’t go through with it.

She thought I would endure.

She was mistaken.

She took me to court… twice!
That’s when the real battle began.

She filed two lawsuits.

In the first, she demanded half of the business.

In the second, a return of the 30% share I once bestowed upon her.

She lost both cases.

But instead of learning from her failures, she sought revenge.

My daughter reported me to the tax authorities!
She wrote an accusation against her own father.

As a result, I faced a tax audit for the past five years.

A year went by in which I couldn’t find peace.

For a year, I navigated bureaucratic channels to prove my integrity.

For a year, I watched as my own daughter attempted to dismantle the business that was meant to be her inheritance.

I recalled how I once held her tiny hand in mine, taught her to take her first steps, and wanted nothing but the best for her.

And now…

Now, she was prepared to destroy me just to gain more.

Gratitude? Care? Family? Don’t make me laugh.
How easily people forget where they came from.

How quickly they forget who gave them a chance.

How easily they betray those closest to them.

My daughter has forgotten who she was.

She believes she achieved everything on her own.

Well then…

Now she will indeed carve her own path.

Without my support.

Without my business.

Without my legacy.

I do not curse her.

But I have no intention of assisting her any longer.

Let her learn what it means to build a life from scratch.

Let her understand what it means to have nothing and strive for everything herself.

And all I can do is repeat:

“Blessed are those who suddenly gain clarity…”
