I’ve Separated from My Husband, and Now He’s Thriving: He Shows That I Was the One Holding Him Back from Living a Normal Life

Hey love, you wont believe the rollercoaster Ive been on. I finally split from Mark, and hes suddenly over the moon. He keeps acting like I was the one holding him back, stopping him from living a normal life.

Honestly, nobodys ever cut me deeper than my exhusband. We havent spoken in three months. The last time I saw him was when I drove our little girl, Poppy, over for the weekend. That was just twelve weeks ago, and the mans turned into a completely different person.

For years I nagged him to shed a few pounds, but he never listened. He kept tucking into junk food and fizzy drinks, gaining more each day, and spent his free time on the sofa. Getting him out for a walk or a gym session seemed impossible. Now hes got a yoga mat rolled out in the most obvious spot of his tiny flat, a fresh haircut, and his clothes actually look tidy even though theres no one around to look after him. I could never get him to even load the washing machine properly, and now hes suddenly a pro at doing everything on his own.

We had a talk Id had enough. He went on about how Id put him down for years, calling himself an idiot, and now hes moved on, saying me and the baby are no longer part of his plans. Hes in a new relationship, glowing with happiness, and hes working on his body, his mindset, and his earnings. That hit me the hardest. He never lifted a finger for me or for Poppy, yet hes changed his whole life for another woman.

People always say you should give as much as youd like to get back, but Mark never played that game. I loved him, respected him, and only offered a comment now and then because he never believed anything needed fixing. And I never got a single thing in return.

Even after we split, its all been about him, not about our daughter, who he barely saw for ages. I wish hed spent a bit of time in my shoes, tried a bit harder, and maybe reaped the same support I always gave him. But who knows what the future holds?

Just needed to get that off my chest. Thanks for listening, youre a lifesaver.
