David used to say it was love at first sight for him. We had a lovely life together and those first three years just flew by. Then he landed a new job and, not too long after, I started to notice he was acting odd. But I kept quiet, convinced it was all in my head. That was, until one day, David told me hed be away for a fortnight on a business trip.
He went off for a shower just before leaving, and I decided to do some laundry for him. Thats when, in his trousers pocket, I stumbled upon two cruise tickets. And one of them had a womans name on it. Imagine how crushed I feltDavid, my own husband, had betrayed me. He just trampled all over my trust and my feelings.
I was absolutely furious. I loved him, I really did, and I couldnt stand what hed done. But I didnt say a word to David. Instead, I rang up my old school friend Matthewhes always been someone I can count onand asked for his help. The two of us went to the very place my husband had planned to take his lover. Matthew and I pretended to be a couple. The moment David saw us, he stormed right over, furious, accusing me of cheating on him! And I just looked him in the eye and said,
