My Partner Is Still Married to His Wife and Has a Daughter with Her

My beloved is still married to his wife and has a daughter.

I truly adore my husband. Weve been together for over seven years now, and we have a six-year-old son. My husband spends a lot of time with our boy, often taking him along to the garage or out for little adventures. He also looks after me wellsometimes hell bring me flowers just because, or plan a romantic evening out. We live a fairly ordinary life, a happy family through and through.

Just recently, we borrowed a bit of money from our parents and managed to buy our first flat. I pride myself on being a good homemaker, and I love it when our place feels cosy, clean, and smells of freshly baked cake. I work off the books, but I earn enough for us to get by comfortably. I have big plans for this propertyhoping to turn every single dream I have for it into reality!

I work at a local beauty salon and take on quite a few private clients. My husband earns a decent wage as well. We dont live extravagantly, but when we set ourselves a goallike buying something special or going on holidaywere quite good at saving up for it. We once thought about buying a cottage, though weve decided to hold off for now.

I enjoy my life, and things between us are going well. We met rather late in life, but I always say I was simply waiting for a man like him.

My partner stays involved in his daughters life, supporting her financially and staying in contact with his wifes parents, since their daughter lives there. Ive never really been interested in what happened with his wife or where she is now.

I didnt bring him back to his familyhe was on his own, living separately. But whats starting to trouble me more and more is that he hasnt divorced his wife. At work, when people ask why we arent married yet, I simply tell them weve put it off for now. Everything seems perfectly fine, and, honestly, marriage feels like just a formality.

My mum recently told me I ought to give my partner an ultimatumthat if he wants us to stay together, he needs to propose soon. She thinks its odd that he still has a formal relationship with another woman. Apparently, that woman holds all the legal rights, and with me, its only about commitments. Even though weve just moved into a new flat, technically, its in her name. What do you even call this sort of marriage triangle?
