The most painful thing that happened to me in 2025 was discovering that my wife was cheating on meand that my brother, cousin, and father had all known about it the entire time.

Wed been married for eleven years. The man she was involved with worked as a secretary in the same company where my brother was employed. Their affair began after my brother introduced them. It wasnt a coincidence. They crossed paths at the office, at meetings, at business functions and social gatherings where my wife would be present. My cousin also ran into them in those same circles. Everyone knew each other. They saw one another often.

For months, my wife carried on as if everything was normal. I attended family events, chatted with my brother, cousin, and father, completely unaware that all three of them knew about her affair. Not one of them warned me. No one pulled me aside, hinted at it, or even tried to prepare me for the truth.

When the truth came out in October, I confronted my wife first. She admitted to the affair. Then I spoke to my brother. I asked him outright if he had known. Yes, he said. I asked him how long hed known. A few months, he replied. When I asked why he hadnt told me, his answer was that it wasnt his business, that these sorts of things are between a husband and wife, and that men dont talk about such things with each other.

I moved out after that, and the house is now up for sale. There were no big rows or scenesI refused to lower myself like that. The man remained at the company where my brother worked. My brother, cousin, and father carried on as usual, maintaining polite relations with both my wife and the man.

Over Christmas and New Years, my mother asked me to join them for celebrations at their home with my brother, cousin, and father. I told her I couldnt come.
