One Day, My Dad Called Me into His Room for a Serious Talk—Or So He Said. To My Surprise, a Woman Aw…

So, one day, Dad called me into his roomhe said we needed to have a serious chat. Ill admit, I felt a bit uneasy about it. When I walked into the living room, I saw a woman waiting for me there.

My whole family revolves around my father. Hes the one who raised me, looked after me, and has always been my unwavering support. After I was born, Mum left us, and Dad chose not to marry againprobably because he was afraid of being hurt all over again. Life hasnt exactly been easy on him, and I always wanted to grow up faster so I could help shoulder some of the burdens he carried as such a responsible man.

Given the state of our finances, I started working when I was just 15. I wrote little pieces for the local papers, and after three years, managed to land myself a better job. A couple of years later, I got an office job that meant I could support both myself and Dad, which felt like such a relief.

Anyway, that day Dad asked me for that important talkat least thats how he put itI couldnt help feeling a knot in my stomach. In the living room, there was that woman. According to Dad, she was my mother.

As soon as she saw me, she burst into tears, apologising over and over, begging for a hug. But I just couldnt bring myself to do it. I gently pulled away from her and left without saying a word, leaving her and Dad alone. I decided it was up to him to deal with things however he saw fit. I just cant forgive someone who abandoned both of us so coldly and never even bothered to send a birthday card all these years.
