Mum Left Homeless with Three Children After Our Dad Ran Off with Her Flat Sale Money By the age of …
So, let me tell you what happened to usmy mum ended up on the street with three kids. Our dad ran off with all her money from the flat sale and just disappeared.
My mum and dad tried for years to have kids, all the way into their late thirties. Doctors didnt have a clue what was wrong, couldnt give them any hope. At some point, my mum gave up and tried to come to terms with never being a mum. My dad barely seemed botheredhe always said, “Dont worry, its nothing,” like he didnt care about having kids at all.
But even feeling hopeless, my mum still kept praying, asking for even just one child. And whether it was a miracle or just mad luck, I was born.
Mum was over the moon, happier than ever. By then, though, Dad had started to treat her like a nuisance, and any time I cried at night, hed have a meltdown. Fast-forward a year, and my twin brothers were born. For Mum, it was everything. She thanked God at the top of her lungsshe was finally a mum. But what did Dad do? Youve probably clocked by nowhe wasnt interested in any of us. He went and pulled a fast one.
He convinced my mum to let him sell our little flat, saying we needed somewhere bigger. He promised to use the money and just take a bit extra on a mortgage. She trusted him. As soon as he had the cash, though, he ran off. Weve not seen him since, not a word, nothing.
So thats how Mum ended up with three kids and nowhere to go. She didnt have anyone to turn to except her parents. The four of us squeezed into her parents placejust two rooms, so we all piled in with Grandma and Grandad. Mums trust in men basically evaporated at that point, and she had to work herself to the bone just to look after us threefeeding us, clothing us, keeping us warm. Honestly, it was rough going.
Thats how we lived for a few years, until first my gran passed away, then my grandad, so we had a bit more space. One summer, Mum took us to the park for the afternoon. Theres this playground we used to love. One day while we were there, this man about Mums age came over and tried to chat to her, but she wasnt having any of it at first. We kept going back, though, and eventually she gave in, swapped numbers with him, and they started seeing each other.
A couple of months later, we all moved in together to this lovely, big, three-bedroom flat with her new partner, Adam. He became our stepdad. Honestly, calling our childhood “happy” after that barely covers it. Adam was everything a dad should bewe shared every win together and every heartbreak, too. Were all grown up now, and hes just Dad to us.
So you see, being a mum with kids isnt always a burdentheres always hope for happiness. Our real dad legged it and left us behind, but Adam stepped up. He saved us, really, and made our family whole again.
