You know, sometimes in relationships, there just comes a point where one persons feelings for the other vanish, and honestly, no one really knows why. Thats exactly what happened to Mark. Hed never actually had a girlfriend before he turned seventeen. Even though loads of girls liked him, he was more focused on pushing himself forward and his studies because he had this dream of becoming a surgeon a career that takes a ton of dedication.

He only really started paying attention to dating when he got to uni, nudged on by his mum, who always hoped hed meet someone nice. Eventually, he actually found someone he genuinely liked. Her name was Charlotte, and she was in the same seminar group as him. She looked a bit surprised when he first spoke to her, mainly because he rarely chatted with girls and mostly hung out with his close mates.

They hit it off pretty quickly. Mark even had the nerve to ask her out to dinner a few times, and she said yes without hesitation. Over time, their friendship naturally shifted into something more, and soon everyone knew they were seeing each other.

Marks mum was over the moon, honestly shed always worried a bit that hed be single forever, bless her. But right after graduation, things suddenly changed. Charlotte’s feelings just seemed to disappear, which, while sad, isnt that rare really, is it? Mark was absolutely crushed when he found out it absolutely floored him. Even though hes a grown lad, it was his first time really feeling the sting of having someone you care about move on. It took him ages to get over it. Such is life sometimes, isnt it?
