My Sister Used to Rely on Everything Being Ready-Made and Was Spoiled by Our Parents, but Now She Keeps Calling Me With Requests…

My sister Emily and I have always had this underlying rivalry, and she constantly tried to outdo me in everything. She got married before I did, and our parents went all out for her wedding, showering her in extravagance, while I had to settle for a modest ceremony due to financial constraints. They claimed theyd spent their entire savings on Emilys wedding and simply couldnt afford to help with mine.

Emily enjoyed a rather comfortable life with her two children; she spent her days at home or pampering herself at beauty salons, as her husband provided her with everything she could want. Meanwhile, my husband and I moved in with his gran to avoid taking out a hefty mortgage and burying ourselves in debt. Instead, we channelled our energy into building up our own business, opening a shop and throwing ourselves into making it succeed.

In time, our hard work paid off and our business flourished. Eventually, Emily and her husband split up. Not long after, Mum asked if I might offer Emily a job at our shop, as she was now on her own caring for the kids. But I knew, deep down, that the real reason their marriage ended was Emilys own betrayals. When Emily reached out to me, it was clear she expected special treatment and tried to talk me into hiring her despite having no relevant experience. She even had the nerve to suggest I pay her a generous salary for barely lifting a finger.

I was honestly taken aback by her cheek and immediately turned her down. I had no desire to subject myself to her endless demands and mood swings, not after seeing how her husband had suffered. I told her, in no uncertain terms, that shed do better searching elsewhere, as I absolutely wasnt interested in being taken for granted by her.
