You Wish! The Substitute Thought He’d Be Living in My Flat at My Expense
Ive always considered myself incredibly fortunate, mainly because Ive been so goal-driven all my life. By the age of twenty-five, Id managed, without a bit of help from my parents or anyone else, to save up and buy my own flat in London.
It was all down to my own efforts no family assistance at all. When I eventually met a man I genuinely fell in love with, I was bold enough to tell him that I owned my own place.
But I made it quite clear that I didnt intend to move into his flat. Instead, I suggested we rent a place together, while I let my flat out to save up for a car.
He agreed, telling me hed start putting money aside soon so we could move in together. Six months down the line, he turned up on my doorstep with a suitcase, explaining hed lost his job and was flat broke.
He asked if he could stay with me for a while. Well, at least hes got parents to fall back on. Needless to say, I didnt invite him in. I think he was just looking for an excuse to live off me. It was clear that was all there was to it, so I ended things with him.
