A Father Walks Away from His Son Despite the Clear Results of a DNA Test

Published

on

Thats not my child; hes an exact replica of your friend, but certainly not mine! Philip exclaimed.

But weve already done the DNA test, that should settle it! pleaded Rebecca.

How do I know you havent forged the results? argued Philip.

And where would I possibly get the money to fake a test? Rebecca replied.

Your former beau gave you the money so that you could accuse me of fathering his child! Philip asserted.

Philips insulting accusation wounded Rebecca deeply. She tried to explain that all babies look alike at first, but he was unwilling to listen. He asked her to leave and not return that evening, slamming the door behind her.

Sitting on the carpet with her crying baby in her arms, Rebecca felt utterly overwhelmed. She did her best to soothe him, but it was ages before he finally drifted off to sleep. Feeling helpless and alone, Rebecca turned to her grandmother for support. Her grandmother suggested inviting Mark, the son of her friend, to help her with the move.

Mark arrived and assisted Rebecca in packing her belongings, dismantling the cot, and preparing to depart. She offered him tea, but he politely declined, saying he preferred to have his brew at her grandmothers flat. In the days that followed, Mark continued to support Rebecca, driving her and her son to run errands and keeping her company during her most difficult hours.

As they spent more time together, Rebecca realised that she had developed a deep affection for Mark. They grew closer, and at last, they married. Later, Rebecca gave birth to a little girl, and her son grew up to be the very image of his biological father.

When Philip saw his son again, he could not help but feel the pain of regret for abandoning him and tearing his family apart. It was a difficult realisation, and he mourned the choices he had made.
