A Friend Found Herself a Married Lover, But His Wife Proved to Be the Smarter Woman

Published

on

My old friend had just turned 25. She was young, slim, and strikingly pretty. Shed landed a job at a travel agency, where she began a whirlwind affair with the director.

The man was over 40, married, and raising two children. He started renting her a flat and showering her with expensive gifts. Their secret relationship lasted nearly a year.

She knew full well he had a family and wasnt eager to leave them. Yet, he began to contemplate divorce, almost thinking it was time. His wife was awareshe suspected her husband was involved with someone else.

He admitted that his wife had started to sense something was wrong, but she never outright confronted him. She didnt make a scene, rummage through his pockets, check his phone, or spark arguments.

Her calm and dignified approach made the man feel guilty. She was gentle, affectionate, and attentive. He started paying more attention to her, lost some weight, and even changed his hair colour. A few months later, as the fervour between my friend and the director faded, his wife joined the agency as the chief accountant. My friend dreaded going to collect her pay, fearing an embarrassingly public row. Yet, the wife was nothing but graceful and polite.

Gradually, the director grew distant from his mistress, who, in desperation, began to act out and insult him. His wife, meanwhile, blossomedher charm was undeniable. The affair unraveled, and the man started spending his evenings at home again. The turning point came during a business trip the three had to take together. My friend, thinking her status in the company was special due to the affair, acted rudely during negotiations. She thought herself above the rest.

In the end, she turned out worse than the wifethe very woman her lover had betrayed. The director asked her to vacate the flat and told her the relationship was over. When my friend arrived at work, the chief accountant called her in and informed her that her services were no longer needed.

To this day, my friend wishes she could forget the whole episode, but she remains deeply impressed by the wifes behaviour, which she still admires.

The wife proved herself as a wise and resourceful woman. She handled the situation so astutely that her husband fell in love with her all over again, and now dotes on her. Yet, no one knows how hard it was for her, how much she cried, how much she suffered. She managed to pull herself together, endured the end of the romantic honeymoon, and took action. Thats how a wise woman carries herself.

But how do most women react? Ninety percent lose their composurearguing, accusing, glaring, and threatening their husbands. At that moment, the man is caught up in passion for another! Who will he choosea bitter, quarrelsome spouse or an affectionate partner? Hes not thinking that the sweet lover will inevitably become as discontented as his wife someday. Hes not reasoning clearly.

Does his wife understand this? Naturally, her emotions cloud her judgement. Life has shown me that only those who can be patient and act wisely truly succeed.

If you discover your husbands infidelity and want to lash out at the other woman, try to compose yourself. Take a deep breath and ponderperhaps your husband might come back. Join a gym, visit the beautician, see a therapist, change your hairstyle. Sign up for a course. Go to dance lessons. Find a job you enjoy or switch workplaces. Learn to love and respect yourself!

Reflecting on this, I realise that composure, wisdom, and self-respect are worth far more than impulsive anger. Its a lesson Ill carry with me for life.
