He Doesn’t Love You Anymore—Start Living Your Own Life Without Him! We’re Happy Together, and You Have to Admit It’s Not Right to Live Without Feelings. Mark Isn’t Leaving the Child, He’s Leaving You.

Get away from me! I shouted at Emily, who was in tears. Go and make your own life without him!

But William is my husband. We have a daughter together. You cant build your happiness on someone elses heartbreak.

Dont start with that! Its not right to live without love. Its not William leaving his child, its you. I dont mind if he wants to see his daughter.

Then, turning my back, I walked away. That evening, William made his decision clear. He packed his things and left Emily. She begged him not to do anything foolish. I was curious in what way I could possibly be better than her.

I just cant go on with you, William told her. I dont care anymore. Its not the same as it was with Emily. Ive started a new life with her.

Months went by. At first, Emily was beside herself, but eventually, she realised she had to move forward, no matter how impossible it felt. Her daughter was growing up. Emily was an accountant by training.

She decided to try applying for a job as a bookkeeper. During the interview, the managing director, Mr. Evans, was warm and seemed to genuinely care. He was impressed by her sense of responsibility and determination to improve herself. Luckily, Emily’s mother agreed to look after her granddaughter while she worked.

Emily focused purely on her career, putting her personal life on hold. After years of hard work, she built a reputation as a reliable employee, eventually being promoted to assistant director.

The only man Emily was in regular contact with was her boss, Frank. He was always attentive and respectful. She couldnt help but feel a growing sympathy towards him. At that time, Frank was married with children, and Emily refused to even entertain the idea that anything could happen between them.

Frank, however, didnt see things the same way. One day, he told Emily quite openly that he was ready to leave his wife, that he had loved Emily for some time. He assured her he would provide for his children, no matter what.

Her previous experience was still a wound that hadnt healed, so Emily was left unsure of what to do.

She remembered what she had told her ex-husbands lover all those years ago: You cant build happiness on someone elses misery.

But Frank was persistent. Over time, their professional relationship became more personal. He kept insistinghe didnt love his wife, their marriage had always been a mistake, and his indifference was making them both miserable. Still, Emily held her ground. Shed once overheard Frank talking to his wife and knew all too well what the woman was going through. Emily couldnt imagine tearing a family apart. She knew she would eventually have to face Franks wife, and the thought terrified her. Sure enough, one evening as she left work, a woman began walking straight towards her. She recognised her immediately.

The woman stopped in front of her, pale and speechless. Is it you? she asked.

It is, I said, barely able to muster the words. It was Emily, standing there.

She proceeded to try and persuade me that I had been right all along. You cant build your own life on the ruins of someone elses.

Remember what you told me years ago? I said coldly.

Yes, I was wrong. I had no right to take your husband from you. Sooner or later, things return full circle. Please, dont keep Frank from me. I have never loved anyone the way I love Frank. Hes the reason I left your ex. I cant live without him. Youve stood in my shoes and you know how much it hurts. You must understand. Besides, life comes back at you in the end. You have your child.

Enough, I snapped.

I had no desire for revenge on my former rival, even if it was Emily herself. But Frank finally convinced me that I deserved my own piece of happiness.

Emily, if I stay with her, there will be three unhappy people: me, you, and Emily. Nothing will change. I dont love her, if Im honest, I never really did. I just gave in to her persistence. One way or another, Ill have to end things with her.

I thought about it and realised that Frank would only feel worse if he stayed out of duty. And honestly, what good would it do? Even if he stayed for his wifes sake, Id still feel the same emptiness. So, I decided to give us, and myself, a real chance at happiness.
