Her Husband Told Her He Was Bored of Her and That She Had Changed So Much He Was Now Bored of Himself

So, nearly two years ago, my husband said something to me that I dont think Ill ever get out of my head. He looked me straight in the eye and said, You live your life so predictably that Im bored of you. Can you believe that? I mean, while Edward thought our life was utterly dull, I was honestly happy with it. Id wake up early every morning, make us breakfast, hit a bit of morning yoga, and then get ready for work. My first priority was always making sure Edward was sorted for his job, since he left before me, and then Id head off myself. Wed prepare all our meals at home Id pack up a second breakfast for us both to take to work in little containers. Every evening, Id pop by the Sainsburys on my way home, then get started on dinner, tidy round the house, and put a load of washing on. Before bed, wed settle in with a film and then off to sleep.

Honestly, I thought I had it all figured out. Everything was perfect: Edward was well looked after, always fed, the house spotless and cosy. What else could one possibly want? Saturdays were always a deep clean day; Id whip up a nice cake or make something special, and in the evening wed either invite a few mates around or pop out for a drink somewhere. Sundays were family days wed visit our parents, half the day at his folks, half with mine. Help out with a few chores, catch up, just enjoy proper family time.

And then Sunday evenings were all about unwinding at home. We never had blazing rows, never raised our voices. Our home felt peaceful, content harmonious, really. But then, out of nowhere, Edward comes out and says hes bored of me. Seriously, he sat me down for hours, chatting about how he wasnt happy, and started telling me about his mates the ones who never stop partying and seem to live some kind of thrilling, action-packed life. Apparently, they have it all! Not like us, who barely even argue, let alone paint the town red. Honestly, that night he just walked out.

I was honestly so content with our quiet life and didnt really want to change, but I loved Edward, so I thought, fine, Ill try anything, even if it means changing myself. First, I worked on my image. Chucked out the old, safe clothes from my wardrobe, used the savings Id squirreled away for a deposit on a cottage to buy a whole load of new outfits. Got my hair cut really short and coloured it too anything to not look boring. Next, I found myself a new job. No more dull office work I landed a role organising events and parties. Honestly, it was a whole new world of fun and excitement Id never imagined.

A week later, Edward came home and you shouldve seen his face, he was absolutely gobsmacked. From that day, I promised him everything would be different. And it was. We were hardly ever at home. Always out doing something, meeting new people, always on the move. Practically every evening we were off out clubbing, fancy restaurants, the local pub, house parties with friends, you name it. Some weekends wed go camping, cycle round the countryside, try a bit of kayaking, or just hop on a train to another city for a change of scene.

After a few months of this non-stop lifestyle, suddenly Edward starts telling me he misses the peace and quiet, just staying in together. Turns out, he missed my homecooked meals and those cakes I used to bake. These days, I barely had a second to cook, let alone bake Id changed so much, even my company wasnt enough for him anymore.

A week later, he tells me he cant hack our new full-on lifestyle. He wants to go back quiet nights in, homely comfort, the lot. He wants homecooked dinners, weekends with the family, all fresh food and none of this takeout business.

But heres the twist Id changed so much, I realised I wasnt interested in all that anymore. For ages Id pushed myself to be the perfect grown-up, but now I had no intention of slipping back to how it was. I found that I actually quite liked this new life. Sure, I had liked the quiet life too, but I just couldnt go back not now. So this time, when Edward said he wanted everything to be like before, things got messy. We ended up in this huge row, things got out of hand, the neighbours got involved, someone mustve called the police. Edward packed some bags and stormed off to his mums. I think he believes hell come back and find everything back to how it was, but thats just not possible. Were not actors in some cheesy film and people dont just change overnight.

So when Edward comes home, hell find the divorce papers on the kitchen table and a note saying Ive gotten bored and cant be with him anymore.
