One morning, while a man was on his way to work, he stopped at a petrol station. There, he met an 18-year-old pregnant girl begging for help. When she asked him for some spare change, he regretfully told her he didn’t have much money, and at first, he was about to drive away.

After a few minutes, the man changed his mind and returned to the young woman. Wanting to fully understand her situation, he asked her about her life. She shared her sad story, explaining thered been a falling out with her parents after she became pregnant outside of marriage, which led them to turn her out of the house. With no job and no financial support, she found herself facing desperate circumstances.

Listening to her troubles, I couldnt help but feel a deep sense of compassion and empathy. I realised I had a chance to make a real difference in her life. Taking out my business card, I handed it to the young woman and asked her to ring me the next day.

True to my word, I met with her in my office. I saw great potential in her and decided to offer her an opportunity. She started off handling basic tasksanswering the phone and running small errands. Yet, through sheer dedication and hard work, she quickly showed herself to be highly capable.

As the months went by, she was promoted and, eventually, rose to become one of our companys assistant directors. That act of kindness changed her life forever. With the stability her new position gave her, she was able to build her own little family, which flourished in time.
